Context
This practice formed part of the group's work on Playing Through Midfield.
Coaching Points
* Play quickly, using 1 to 2 touches where possible.
* Look to receive the ball on your back foot with an open body - opening up the pitch & allowing for maximum passing options.
* Look to keep the ball on the floor and where possible, split the defenders with your pass.
* Players need to react quickly to transitions.
* The pass completion focus encourages team-work, concentration and communication.
* The use of different footballs challenges the players to be adaptable.
* Though the focus is on the passing team, the defenders need to work together to avoid being split and having to chase for longer.
