Context
After a warm up jog and some dynamic exercises, this technical warm up is useful as a ball activation exercise. It leads nicely into opposed work as the players feel they have sharpened up their touch and movement first.
Coaching Points
• Develops close control, encouraging players to receive across their body and change the line of their pass.
• Incorporates both floor and aerial controls.
• Encourages players to use both feet, with two touch especially worked on (left foot control for a right foot pass & vice versa)
• Works double movements off the ball to make space.
• Tests accuracy of passing, fitness and concentration as you look to maintain technical quality as you tire.
• A good sharpener at the start of a session or before a match.
