Shooting - 1v1 Create Space to Shoot. Two sided goal.
technical03:511,095 views

Following on from Shooting - Keeping the Ball Down we add a defender to test the skill under pressure. The attacker plays a quick 1-2 with the defender and then it is a 1v1 to score. We look at how the attacker can create space with their touch to get an easier shot on target.

Information Section

In a session on shooting with a junior team we first looked at technique (and the mentality of hitting the target rather than just striking a ball), and now we applied some pressure in the form of a defender to test the skills. It was a great group to work with, and there were lots of positive improvements throughout the session.

On reflection with this practise I would have liked to have focused a little more on the decision making of when to shoot and when to take a touch, and to have added an element of competition with scores.
